1938 Wood Engraving Torup Castle Sweden Sverige Thornton Oakley XGG1 XGAC2 This is an original 1914This is an original 1938 black and white wood engraving of Torup Castle, located in Scania, Sweden. Thornton Oakley (1881 1953) was an American illustrator known for his work with "Century," "Harper's Monthly," and "National Geographic." Oakley collaborated with his wife, Amy, while creating a series of travel books. Amy wrote the text, and Thornton illustrated. Oakley studied at the University of Pennsylvania, and received degrees in architecture.
