This is an absolutely original Model 1850 Staff and Field Officer's Sword with half basket brass hilt decorated with pierced floral decorations

so that may indicate it was taken home after the war

This is a very nice USGI Bring back North Vietnamese Army peaked field cap, made from heavy OD Green Twill Cotton. It features a fabric decorative "chinstrap" held in place by two fabric covered buttons. The front of the cap is stiffened and it has a painted metal badge for the People's Army of Vietnam, attached by a small nut in the back. The red paint on the badge has unfortunately mostly flaked away, as shown.
