This is a very nice British Flintlock Officers Pistol, which looks to be intended for Sea Service or possibly for Dragoon Cavalry. It is very similar to the British Sea Service pistols first developed around 1715, which were typically equipped with a 12" iron barrel, full wood stock and brass furniture. The Butt Caps have short "ears" but not "long spurs" The lock plates were flat, not rounded and up until 1762 were
