Antique Carved, Articulated Figure (Minus One Leg!) 1935 This is the second miniature

This is the second miniature furniture piece (though the scale of this is more tabletop sculpture than dollhouse) I've found in as many weeks with carved "teeth"

ochre and pink

with simulated bands around bottom

which for me rather enhances its end-of-the-day feeling

I just love envisioning the pleasure of the @12 year old or so who I'd guess made it

Antique Carved, Articulated Figure (Minus One Leg!) 1935 This is the second miniatureI'm not quite sure the origins of this figure, carved of pine and with limbs connected via wire loops rather than the sorts of carved and pinned joints one typically sees on jig dolls, though he does have a hole in his chest to accommodate a dowel. It seems possible the (heavy duty) steel wire was a later addition, replacing a less durable wire, which didn't keep his right leg holding on very well!
