Poetic Artist Made Large Painted Papier Mache Face New York transit authority I'd guess this old cutout

I'd guess this old cutout wooden stork head was once attached to a body and lived in a yard or garden somewhere

Born in 1862

with what looks to me an old repair to the top of one section

1 3/8" across at opening and 2 3/4" across at base

with really a fantastic surface

Such a wonderfully expressive face, I'd be inclined to give a name to this guy and talk to him like friend (or therapist!) C. 1960s 70s I believe, painted papier mache, strung for hanging. 13" x 8 5 8" and in good condition, with a couple of small dings as documented.
