the Brits were concerned about Russian encroachment upon their colonial territories in India and Pakistan

The designation was changed to the 36th Division in July 1917

after Baldur von Schirach was appointed by H as the first Reichsjugendführer (Reich Youth Leader)

The 1/4th Battalion served in India before landing at Le Havre as part of the 159th Brigade in the 53rd (Welsh) Division in July 1917 for service on the Western Front
