which is pretty firm but a little squishy too

and it as really quite a lovely sculptural object altogether

Then the monogram WM carved into the lid--as clearly this was a precious thing

The Apple Pickers, Wonderful Antique Real Photo Postcard west and lee which I think this guyI love this photo SO MUCH, found near Lake George in upstate NY this week, portraying three apple pickers, who look as if themselves born of this very dense and loaded apple tree, with the fruits of their labors the their feet. With the woman partially camouflaged behind the branches, and the younger man in the tree almost entirely so. All with wonderfully straight lipped faces and looking as if they've lived very hard working lives. Fantastic. 5 7
