with some light printed stain on front (maybe from another postcard) and writing in pencil on the back

winking (with all of his face) at some other girl while the recipient of the postcard

but I'm not sure) to the wood on the handle nearish the head of the brush--but sill very lovely

and in excellent condition to boot

C. 1830s Ink Silhouette of Woman in Original Frame mod box is 1/2" deepThe frame (with pretty little acorn at top holding a hanging ring) tells me that this inked silhouette dates to the 1830s or so, though probably once held glass, which is long gone. Thus, there is wear and aging to the painting and paper, including some loss to what appears to have been gold painted details on her hair and bodice. I kind of like the effect, lending it some extra aura, but with her quite prominent nose still very clearly pronounced!
