It was originally created in 2007 and commissioned by Venture Richmond for the 19th anniversary of the 2nd Street Festival of Richmond, VA. The 2nd Street Festival is an annual event that celebrates the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood. The Jackson Ward community is often referred to as the "Harlem of the South" due to it being a vibrant cultural and business
