There is slight variation to the faces of the square blocks

there is a small hole on one cheek that I assume is a moth hole and a small patch of tiny holes on the skirt that I think are too

and it appears that there was once a sticker on the bottom

I'm not sure what sort of office the sign was associated with, but did look up the number, which (with a 518 area code) appears still to be in use, associated now with a residential address on Defiance Street (which seems perfectly right!) Located in the Adirondacks
