This fine rifle is in . 38 40 caliber (marked . 38 W. C. F on chamber) with a 24" octagonal barrel and full length magazine tube. It also still has traces of the the 38 CAL. marking on the feed block. Features the classic front sight and "buckhorn" rear adjustable sight. The serial number is 308461B denoting the year of manufacture as 1889. The engraving on the top of the barrel is clear, with just a bit of
