with the lovely star made of inlaid mother of pearl bits at center still firmly in place

and it appears that there was once a sticker on the bottom

though I'm not completely certain

The box measures 6" long x 3 1/4" wide and each walnut measures 1 5/8"long x 1 3/8" wide x 5/8" tall

Old Carved Figure with Tall Cap and Wonderful Profile wispy with the lovely star madeA wonderful and very expressive carved figure I think, who I take for a man of the woods in many senses! Theres quite a primitive elegance to him I think, and a bit of surface splitting that makes it appear even as if hes got a cloak drawn around him which to me makes also makes him feel a bit French! (From one angle, with face in profile, he actually reminds me a bit of Punch from Punch and Judy, and also a bit of Napolean!) Fantastic dry wood
