The serial number is 89952A denoting the year of manufacture as 1882. The engraving on top of the barrel is mostly clear: WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN, CT KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29. 1866.
