This is a very nice example of the Mauser Model 1871 84 rifle, the first Magazine rifle widely used by the German Empire. It looks to have been carried in service for a long time, but was not actually used very much. It does however look like the stock was completely reconditioned at arsenal, which is why the metal components protrude slightly above the surface. This has also removed all of the original stock
