It is one of the few supersonic passenger aircraft in the world to have been in commercial service, along with the Tu 144 of the Soviet Tupolev Design Bureau. Concorde first flew in 1969 and entered service in 1976. It is mainly used to operate scheduled transatlantic routes from London Heathrow Airport (British Airways)
