Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central depiction of a Viking longship sailing over the Northern Hemisphere, the obverse reverse bearing a single visible rivet securing the obverse globe in place, with a crimped hinge and narrow banjo style pinback
