First, they picked out perfect American and European oak barrels and dried them for two years. These special barrels were then sent to Spain, where Sherry producers used them to age Oloroso Sherry for two years under the watchful eye of the Macallan. Once the barrels had taken on the perfect sherry influence, the barrels were sent back to Macallan, filled with their single
