Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of 1943, secured with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backer with a field grey wool liner indicating Heer issue, the shield measuring 52. 10 mm (w) x 61. 64 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
