Two piece construction, a circular bronze gilt medal with red, orange, green brown, light blue and dark blue enamels, the obverse bears a soldier wearing a backpack holding a gun, encompassed by a dark blue enamel border inscribed in gilt MEXICO CONFIA EN TUS HIJOS (MEXICO TRUST YOUR CHILDREN), with a laurel wreath border tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the reverse bears the inscription MAYO 28 DE 1942 COMITE CENTRAL DE LA DEFENSA
