Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the top and bottom by ribbon, surrounding a central crowned German national eagle bearing a Stahlhelm and crossed swords, circumscribed by an inscription of FRONTKMPFER DES WELTKREIGES 1914 1918 (FRONTLINE FIGHTER OF THE WORLD WAR 19141 1918), the reverse with a vertical pinback, unmarked,
