Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse bearing a raised and silverd Stahlhelm overlaid by an inscription of DER STAHLHELM, above a silvered date of 1923 topped by oak leaves, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical banjo style pinback meeting a round wire catch, etched with a date of 14. 4. 23., maker marked with the logo of Der Stahlhof, Magdeburg, measuring 30. 52 mm in diameter,
